In the UK we are a Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Approved Centre for the delivery of the qualifications, managing the learning programmes for the majority of students who pursue the qualifications by supported self study.

THE QUALIFICATION
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT(UK)) Advanced Diploma provides recognition of the professional knowledge and skills of potential senior managers working in a logistics environment.
The CILT (UK) Advanced Diploma, in itself, is not linked to a level of membership within the CILT(UK), however, holders of the CILT(UK) Advanced Diploma who have 1 year's relevant experience are eligible for membership of CILT(UK) (MILT). Holders of the Advanced Diploma, who have a minimum of 5 year's appropriate experience, including 2 years at a senior level, will be able to apply for Chartered Membership of the CILT(UK) at the Members grade (MILT) through the Professional Interview route. Completion of the Professional Diploma and Advanced Diploma will cover all of the knowledge requirements prescribed by the Institute for Chartered Membership (CMILT).
The CILT(UK) Advanced Diploma has been modelled on the Senior Management competency model developed by the European Logistics Association. The importance of this development programme is to ensure the candidate satisfies all the performance criteria within every element of competence:
Contribute to the formulation of corporate strategy
Identify organisational requirements for logistics
Design logistics strategy and plans
Obtain and allocate resources to deliver logistics plans
Evaluate the effectiveness of logistics operations
Provide support for logistics development and practice
Typically, candidates will hold management positions where they are required to make or influence strategic decision making within their company.
Candidates to this programme should have completed the CILT(UK) Diploma in Logistics or the Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport. Direct entry to this programme may also be possible for those candidates with relevant experience at the appropriate level.
Given the commitment to work levels described in this guide we estimate that a candidate can complete this programme within 18 months of study.
It is expected that candidates will complete this programme within 48 months of enrolment.
Where a candidate takes in excess of this period, the provision of administrative support, coaching and assessment will be at the discretion of Logistics Learning Alliance Ltd.
Where candidates exceed the laid down timeframes for completion of CILT(UK) qualification programmes (48 months), there may be a requirement to reassess elements of the work submitted to ensure currency with CILT(UK) competences. In this circumstance additional assessment fees will be payable.
