Certification in Humanitarian Medical Logistics Practices
Certification in Humanitarian Medical Logistics Practices (MedLog) is a distance learning programme and is offered as part of the Fritz Institute/CILT (UK) Humanitarian Logistics Certification Programme.
Developed for experienced humanitarian logisticians and medical specialists handling the medical supply, MedLog focuses on the special supply chain requirements for medical items.
MedLog was developed with funding from DFID, ECHO and USAID, by experienced logisticians from ICRC, IFRC, MSF-Switzerland, UNICEF, WFP and WHO, with inputs from IMC, Merlin, Oxfam-GB, and UNFPA.
There are no academic pre-requisites. Less experienced logisticians are recommended to take the Certification in Humanitarian Logistics program first.

When Can I start
There are no specific dates – candidates can enrol and commence their studies whenever they wish.
How is the learning delivered?
The distance learning delivery method is by fully coach supported. Central to the course is access to the specialist tutor who will support and guide students throughout the programme. Students can contact their tutor (as often as they wish) by telephone, e-Mail or Skype.
How long does the Medlog qualification take to complete?
The duration of the programme is determined by the pace at which the student works. The course consists of 11 tasks, each of which should take between four and five hours. Students are encouraged to complete one task a week but anyone who wishes to work faster than this can be comfortably accommodated.

At this point in time there are no exemptions available.
What does the programme cost?
The course fee is £660.00, payable in two instalments of £330.00, as follows:
- On enrolment: £330.00
- Before commencing module three: £330.00
This fee can be discounted to £600.00 for students who wish to pay the complete fee on enrolment.
Students being invoiced in the European Union should add Value Added Tax @ 20% to the above.
